Class A Barber
A 1,000-clock-hour course that prepares you for the Texas Class A Barber Exam through classroom instruction, hands-on practice and supervised work on real clients.
Hybrid / Distance
The same 1,000-hour Class A program, with 500 hours of theory completed online and 500 hours of hands-on training completed at the academy.
Cosmetology Crossover
Already a licensed cosmetologist? A 300-hour pathway for licensed cosmetologists to earn the Class A Barber license and work in both cosmetology and barber establishments.
Inside the 1,000 hours
Most of your hours are on hair, not in a chair.
Haircutting, chemistry and hairstyling alone are 720 of the 1,000 hours. The curriculum follows what TDLR requires, and we publish every unit.

Mornings, evenings, or half of it online.
Two class schedules on campus, plus a hybrid option that moves the theory hours online. We offer a part-time evening option for students who need more flexibility. This program allows you to complete your barber training in a longer time frame while attending evening classes.

Published schedule as of September 2026. Rolling enrollment: new classes begin every 6 to 8 weeks and always start on a Tuesday.
The hybrid program puts 500 of the 1,000 hours online. The other 500 are hands-on, on campus, on the schedule above.
Investment · What does it cost and how can I pay?
$9,500. Here is exactly how it breaks down.
No financial-aid maze and no hidden fees: one enrollment fee, one first month, then 12 equal payments. Weekly plans and pay-in-full are available too.
Enrollment fee — at registration
Non-refundable. Covers your barber kit, shirt, smock, digital book, name tag and student permit.
First month's tuition
Due on or before the first day of class.
12 monthly payments
$625 each, due by the 5th of each month. Tuition not paid by the 5th of the month will prevent a student from clocking hours.
Enrollment fee — at enrollment
Non-refundable deposit. Same kit, uniform, book, name tag and student permit.
Balance — first day of class
A discount is available for students who pay the full balance by the first day of class. The academy sets the amount; ask admissions.

Weekly payments
Weekly payment plans are available. The weekly amount and schedule are set with admissions when you enroll — they are not published, so this page does not guess.
The enrollment fee is non-refundable and includes your barber kit, shirt, smock, digital book, name tag, student permit. Same numbers as the academy's FAQ, kept in one place so they can never disagree.

Student Services is open to the public. All services are performed by students and supervised by an Instructor. That is where confidence comes from.
Theory and technique with your instructor: sanitation, sciences, chemistry, cutting, shaving.

- Understand tuition and payment. The $9,500, the enrollment fee, the monthly plan and what your options are.
- Decide if it fits. No pressure. The tour comes before the application on purpose.

Ready to apply? Here is what enrollment asks of you.
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Have completed at least the 7th grade with proof, or hold a high school diploma or GED
- Present a valid picture I.D. at registration
- Pay the non-refundable $1,125 enrollment fee / barber kit deposit at registration
Approved for Veterans Education Benefits by the Texas Veterans Commission (State Approving Agency – SAA). Veterans Education Benefits are accepted as a way to pay for the program.
Your kit, uniform, digital book, name tag and student permit come with the $1,125 enrollment fee.
